Spencer's Talent Show

Spencer's school performed songs from Sound of Music and showed off some of their awesome talents. Spencer did a tongue twister, a melodrama, and a magic trick. He did great! I can't get the videos to post or I'd put them on. Next time you see him ask him to perform for you. I know he'd love it! Do you see him on the left?
Bria always looks for Charlotte the school cat when we are there.
The cotton candy didn't have a chance!
Happy to have a chance to PARTY!!!
Spencer and Hyrum are great buddies.

How Does Your Garden Grow

Spencer W. Kimball said, “We encourage you to grow all the food that you feasibly can on your own property.... Grow vegetables and eat them from your own yard.... Study the best methods of providing your own foods.... If there are children in your home, involve them in the process with assigned responsibilities” (Ensign, May 1976, 124).

Here is our attempt at following his counsel. We use the chard and lettuce in our green smoothies. We eat the bush beans one at a time as fast as they grow. We also have lots of zucchini, tomatoes and peppers that are just starting to produce. Hopefully, each year we can add a little as we become better gardeners and better at leaning to use what we produce. So far no one seems to have the magic green thumb, but maybe, instead of being magical, it comes with practice!

Phoenix Children's Museum

Drew recently got to go on a field trip with his pre-school class. He asked me if I would "help him go." I was thrilled to be able to spend this special day with Drew.

We started off the day with a fire alarm so we got to see the buses arrive.
Drew was so excited to ride on a real school bus!
We raced these cars down lots of different tracks.
I never knew what great motorcycle noises Drew can make!
Drew loves going through car washes so this trike car wash was really fun for him.
My own personal chef made a pizza for me to try.
He loved shopping at the market.
What an exciting race car!
Lost in the noodle forest.
Whoosh! Catch the scarves as they float down.
The 3 story climber we explored was very cool.
Thanks for taking me along with you on this super fun field trip. We had a blast!

Christmas in Idaho

We decided to spend Christmas in Idaho this year. On the way out of Provo Travis called Grandma Robins. She invited us over and then to spend the night. Talk about spontaneous! It was already about 7 PM when Travis called her. She got pizza which the kids loved. They also loved the train that was attached to the basement ceiling, the spinning airplane, the fish tank and I don't even remember what else. I'm glad we got to have this impromptu visit!

We got to Twin just in time for Christmas Eve. The Kears had just moved in a few weeks prior to our visit. It was amazing at how well the house was put together. Somebody had really been working hard! You never would have guessed a family of 6 had just moved in!!! Alice helped Carter and Chloe prepared a wonderful program for Christmas Eve that was so fun. Everyone that wanted to had a chance to perform. Skits, singing, piano, musical instruments, stories....It was great!

Memaw was glad to hold the newest grandbaby.

Raspberries

Bria discovered a no-fail way to get a smile and often a laugh from Luke. She says "Happy Birthday, ppppp!"

Bisa GG

We started calling my Gram GG when she started having great grandkids. She has one great grandson in Brazil who combined the English and Portuguese and called her Bisa GG. It stuck so she is now Bisa GG. My mom told Drew this morning that Bisa GG was here. He said "No, all of GG is here not a piece of GG!"

Surgery #2

Luke went in for his second surgery on March 9th. It lasted about 2.5 hours. Dr. Ritchey and Dr. Singh were the attending surgeons. They were both sure Luke would need a graft but he ended up not needing one. Amazing! We are so thankful for the fasting and prayer of so many and especially for the goodness of a loving Heavenly Father.

Aunt Karen is an angel (as if we didn't already know that.) She took Spencer Drew and Bria for 3 days and 2 nights. Luke was able to have all the attention and quiet time he needed those first few days. I was sick with fever and sniffles so it was such a blessing to have her help. Nana and Papa brought us dinner the night of the surgery and they took the boys last night. We have once again been the recipients of an outpouring of charity and love. I am so thankful for the blessing of a loving family. I know Luke was in the thoughts and prayers of our family in Idaho too and that means so much to us.

By the day after surgery Luke was kicking his legs with all the vim and vigor he has always had. He choose the week after surgery to learn to crawl. He is doing so well I continue to be amazed at his resiliency.
