4th Festivities

After breakfast we went to the parade. We got the perfect spot- cool, shady and close to the beginning of the parade. Bria's favorite part were the people walking dogs behind us.

That afternoon we headed off to the park to meet some friends and PLAY! Soccer was a big hit. We left only after it started raining cold raindrops on us.
The boys had a great time with their lightsabers.
The battles were pretty fierce.
After some good laughs we headed home!
Later that day we grabbed some cotton candy and went for a hike. Watch out for mountain lions and rabid foxes!
What?!! Rabid foxes!!!
We decided to risk it to enjoy our treat outside.
The boys had a few races.
Bria just watched.
Yum, cotton candy!
Our next activity was putting Drew and Bria to sleep! Then Spencer and I drove down the road to where we could see fireworks. What fun! Happy 4th!

4th Breakfasts

We started out our 4th of July celebration right with a fun breakfast accompanied by some favorite patriotic tunes. The "American Toast" was a huge hit with the kids. They had so much fun decorating their flag and then eating it!

Harmonica lessons

Papa Lenny and Nana came to visit Friday July 3rd. We had lots of fun visiting. Of course Papa Lenny brought along his harmonica. Drew played for a few minutes but he's not the only performer in the family now.
After listening to Papa play for a few minutes she decided to try it out.
She found a pen that she was really jamming with. OK, so she didn't actually make any noise, but she danced and looked like she was playing the pen!
Thanks for the visit Papa and Nana. We love you guys!

Spanish Immersion

Every week Travis meets with some people from his spanish class at a local resturante. The class may earn extra credit for coming and only speaking spanish. The kids and I joined them last night at Charley's. Armed with a spanish dictionary and the phrase 'Como se dice' I joined the rest of the participants on the third floor. The teacher Senor Serpas, from El Salvador, was anxious to know when I would be taking his class. I told him I'd join up when Travis was good enough to tutor me! The first word I learned was palomitas de maiz, or popcorn. We had lots of fun. Thanks, Travis, for inviting us!

One tough cookie

Lately, Bria has proven over and over that she's got what it takes to thrive in the midst of older brothers. She is stepped on, fallen on, tripped over and knocked over so many times a day it's unbelievable.

She got this one falling out of a camping chair onto the sidewalk. It's still unclear if she had help from brothers or not.
Bria loves to watch the bugs in and around the garden.
Dirt is plentiful at our house and Bria revels in it!
At the end of another day romping in the backyard.

Bria is the only one that willingly let's me take pictures these days! But since she's adorable it works out fine!
