Our family just went camping with our stake. We got to Camp Geronimo Wednesday afternoon and had lots of adventures before we went home Saturday afternoon. The kids participated in Camp Nursery and Camp Primary while Travis and I went to several classes on faith, family and special interests. There were classes on things like food storage, clogging, money, eating right, gardening, courtship couponing, understanding Isaiah, finding joy in life, and many many more. Every night there was a program for us to enjoy. I loved having the option of going to classes or just taking it easy with the family. I would have loved to go to more classes - they were all so wonderful, but I loved rock hopping in the creek with the kids and just taking it easy in the tent too. The weather was great and we even got to eat some wild apples before heading home. Some campers were packed so tightly at their campsites. I enjoyed having a site that was a little more secluded, but we walked a long ways! Our campsite was so far away from everything we made sure to pack everything we'd need for most of the day. We'd only go to the tent for a short rest once during the day, the rest of the day we stayed closer to the action. I started calling it Camp Hike-a-Lot because from our tent to Camp Nursery it took close to a half our of hiking! You can imagine that trip with a 1 and 3 year old.
Here were some of the kids favorites-
Spencer - rock hopping and climbing
Drew - rock hopping and seeing friends from preschool (Hailey and Samantha)
Bria - sleeping in the tent, but she says camping was too long and she wanted to take her rocking horse
Luke - having so much freedom to get dirty!
We had a wonderful time!
These water fountains were for long distance drinks!
The rocket balloons were fun for everyone but Luke. He was scared of them!
The shows were fun but the kids were always tired by 7 and begged to go the the tent. The last night we made them stick it out and Bria and Luke fell asleep on me and Drew fell asleep on Travis.
Spencer took the balloons to the talent show. The crowd loved it!
Fruit Loops for breakfast!?!?
